Editorial Policy

How we select tools, create content and stay independent.

This editorial policy explains how Shujaz.com plans, writes, checks and updates the AI tool listings, reviews and prompts you read on our website. Shujaz.com is an AI tools directory and AI prompts library run by one person, Shujaz, an independent web developer, social media consultant and AI consultant based in Kerala, India. We want you to know how our content is made, what it is based on and where its limits are.

Editorial policy – How we select tools, create content and stay independent.

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Our Mission and Why We Publish an Editorial Policy

Our mission is simple. We want to help people find the right AI tool for a job, without wasting hours on search results and sales pages. We also want to give creators ready-to-use prompts that save time.

Today Shujaz.com lists more than 900 AI tools across 30 categories. These include writing, image, video, audio, coding, chatbots, marketing, productivity and business tools. Our prompts library holds more than 1,400 AI prompts. That includes 400 retro image prompts inspired by the 1960s to the 1990s and 1,000 business image prompts.

A directory of this size only works if readers can trust it. That is why we publish this editorial policy. It sets out the rules we follow, so you can judge our content for yourself.

Who this editorial policy covers

This editorial policy applies to every page on Shujaz.com. That means tool listings, long-form tool articles, category pages, comparison content, prompt pages and blog posts. It also applies to any future sponsored content, which must follow the labelling rules below.

  • AI tool listings and reviews in our AI tools directory.
  • Prompt collections in our AI prompts library.
  • Guides, FAQs and informational articles.
  • Any page that describes a product, a price or a feature.

Who Is Responsible for Our Content

Shujaz.com is not a large media company. It is operated by an individual, Shujaz. He is responsible for what is published, what is changed and what is removed. You can learn more about his background on the founder portfolio page and on our About Us page.

Because one person runs the site, there is no separate newsroom or editorial board. Instead, this editorial policy acts as the rulebook. Every decision about content should be traceable back to the principles written here.

When we say “we”, “us” or “our” on this page, we mean Shujaz.com and its owner. Readers who want to question a decision can contact the owner directly by email.

Editorial Independence from Advertisers and Affiliates

Independence is the heart of our editorial policy. What we write about a tool should depend on the tool, not on who pays us. That rule does not bend for advertisers, affiliate programs or tool makers.

Advertising

Shujaz.com may show display advertising through Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose which tools we list. They do not see our articles before publishing. They cannot ask us to change a score, a pro or a con.

Ads are placed by Google’s systems. We do not pick individual ads. For details about ad cookies, see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Affiliate links

Some “Visit website” buttons or tool links may be affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission. This comes at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships never change our scores, rankings, pros, cons or alternatives. A tool without an affiliate program can score higher than a tool that pays commission. Affiliate links may carry rel=”sponsored nofollow” attributes. Our full approach is explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.

We follow the spirit of the US Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements. You can read the FTC Endorsement Guides FAQ to understand why clear disclosure matters.

How Tools Are Selected, Listed and Removed

Not every AI product makes it into the directory. Our editorial policy uses a few simple tests before a tool is listed.

Listing criteria

  • It is real and available. The tool has a working official website that people can visit today.
  • It uses AI in a meaningful way. AI must be a core part of the product, not just a marketing word.
  • It has clear public information. We need official pages that explain what the tool does and how it is priced.
  • It fits a category. The tool must belong in at least one of our 30 categories.
  • It is useful to our readers. We favour tools that solve real problems for creators, marketers, developers and businesses.

Why a tool may be removed

AI products change fast. Some shut down. Some merge with other products. Some change so much that the old listing no longer makes sense. Under this editorial policy, we may remove or archive a listing when:

  • The official website no longer works or the product is discontinued.
  • The tool appears to be unsafe, deceptive or used mainly for harmful purposes.
  • We cannot confirm basic facts from official sources anymore.
  • The tool owner makes a valid request about their listing, logo or trademark.

Removal decisions are never sold. A company cannot pay to remove a competitor or to hide honest criticism.

How Articles Are Produced: Automation, AI Assistance and Human Review

We want to be honest about how our content is made. This is one of the most important parts of our editorial policy.

Where the information comes from

Tool information is compiled from each tool’s official website, documentation and pricing pages. We also use publicly available information, such as official announcements and app store pages. We do not rely on rumours or unnamed sources.

How drafts are written

With more than 900 tools, writing every article entirely by hand is not realistic for one person. So long-form tool articles are produced with the help of automation and AI writing assistance. Each article follows a fixed editorial structure. That structure covers the description, key features, pros and cons, pricing and plans, platforms, API and open-source status, an editorial score, FAQs and alternatives.

AI assistance helps turn source information into readable text. It does not decide our scores on its own, and it is not treated as a source of facts.

Human review

The site owner reviews and updates articles over time. Review focuses on facts that matter most: pricing, plans, features, platforms and official links. Our Fact-Checking Policy explains these checks step by step.

We should also be clear about limits. We do not always test every paid feature of every tool hands-on. Where a score or opinion is based on official information rather than personal testing, our Review Policy explains what the score is built on.

What automation will never do

  • Invent features, prices, user numbers or awards.
  • Create fake testimonials or fake user reviews.
  • Copy other publishers’ reviews word for word.
  • Publish claims we cannot trace back to a source.

Sourcing Standards in Our Editorial Policy

Good content starts with good sources. Our editorial policy ranks sources by how reliable they are.

  1. Official product sources. The tool’s own website, pricing page, documentation, changelog and help centre.
  2. Official developer channels. Company blogs, press releases, official social accounts and code repositories.
  3. Official app stores and marketplaces. Listings that confirm platforms and availability.
  4. Reputable independent coverage. Used for context, never as the only source for a key fact.

When sources disagree, we trust the most official and most recent one. If we still cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out or state that it is unconfirmed.

Pricing needs extra care

AI pricing changes often. Plans are renamed, limits change and free tiers appear or disappear. We show pricing as a guide only, so please always verify prices on the tool’s official site before you pay. Our Disclaimer covers this in more detail.

Updates Cadence: How Often Content Is Refreshed

A directory is never finished. Our editorial policy treats updates as ongoing work, not a one-time task.

Content type Typical update approach
Popular tool listings Re-checked more often, especially pricing and plans
Other tool listings Reviewed on a rolling basis over time
Reported errors Reviewed within 5 business days
Broken or changed official links Fixed when found or reported
Prompt collections Refined and expanded as new AI models appear

We cannot promise that every page is updated every week. That is why each page should be read as a helpful starting point. Major changes, like a new pricing model, are added when we find them or when readers tell us.

When a significant correction is made, we add a dated note to the page. Our Corrections Policy explains how that works.

Prompts Library Standards

Our prompts library follows the same editorial policy as our tool pages, with a few extra rules.

How prompts are written

  • Prompts are written to be clear, specific and easy to adapt.
  • Each prompt is grouped by theme, style or use case so it is easy to find.
  • We avoid prompts that target real people, living artists by name for imitation, or trademarked characters and logos.

Using our prompts

Our prompts are free to copy and use for personal and commercial projects. However, the outputs you create with AI generators are your responsibility. Each AI platform has its own terms about ownership and commercial use of generated images. Please read those terms before you use outputs commercially.

Do not use our prompts to create unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful content. This includes deepfakes of real people. Our Terms and Conditions set out these rules in full.

Results can vary

The same prompt can produce different results on different AI tools or model versions. We describe what a prompt aims to create. We cannot guarantee an exact output.

Quality Standards Under Our Editorial Policy

Every page on Shujaz.com should meet the same basic quality bar. Our editorial policy turns that bar into a short checklist. It helps keep hundreds of pages consistent, even when many are drafted with automation.

The quality checklist

  • Accurate. Key facts match the official source at the time of checking.
  • Complete. The page covers features, pricing, platforms, pros, cons and alternatives.
  • Fair. Strengths and weaknesses are both shown, in a calm and neutral tone.
  • Useful. The page helps a reader decide whether the tool fits their needs.
  • Original. Text is written for Shujaz.com and is not copied from other reviews.
  • Clearly dated. Readers can see when important changes were made.

What happens when a page falls short

Sometimes a page will miss the mark. A price may be out of date, or a feature may have been renamed. When that happens, our editorial policy says the fix comes first and the explanation comes second. We update the page, and add a dated note if the change is significant.

We would rather admit a mistake than leave wrong information online. Honest corrections are a normal part of following an editorial policy, not a sign of failure.

Balancing speed and care

New AI tools launch every week. Readers want fast coverage, but they also want accurate coverage. When the two conflict, our editorial policy puts accuracy first. A short, correct listing is better than a long article built on guesses.

At the moment, our core content is not paid for by tool makers. If we ever offer sponsored listings or sponsored posts, this editorial policy requires clear labelling.

  • Any sponsored listing or post will be clearly labelled “Sponsored”.
  • The label will appear where readers can see it before they act.
  • Sponsored placement will not change a tool’s editorial score.
  • Links in sponsored content may carry rel=”sponsored nofollow”.

We do not accept payment for positive reviews. We will not sell a higher score, a better rank or the removal of honest cons. A sponsor pays for visibility, never for our opinion.

Conflicts of Interest

The owner of Shujaz.com also works as a web developer, social media consultant and AI consultant. That means a conflict could arise if a client builds or sells an AI tool.

Under our editorial policy, conflicts are handled like this:

  1. If a listed tool belongs to a client or a personal project, we will say so on the page.
  2. Such tools are scored with the same criteria as every other tool.
  3. Gifts, free accounts or trial credits do not buy better coverage.
  4. If a conflict is too close to manage fairly, we may choose not to review that tool.

Free trial access from a tool maker is sometimes useful for checking features. Accepting it never creates an obligation to write something positive.

Accessibility and Plain Language

AI can feel technical and confusing. Our editorial policy asks every page to use plain, friendly English that most people can follow.

  • We use short sentences and short paragraphs.
  • We explain terms like “API” or “open source” when they matter.
  • We use clear headings so pages are easy to scan.
  • We aim for good colour contrast and support both light and dark modes.
  • We add descriptive text to images where practical.

We are still improving. If a page is hard to read or hard to use with assistive technology, please let us know. Accessibility feedback is always welcome.

User Feedback and Reader Participation

Readers help make Shujaz.com better. Many useful fixes start with a short email from someone who noticed a change.

Visitor star ratings

Tool pages show visitor star ratings. These are separate from our editorial score. They reflect what visitors think, not what we think. Simple checks help prevent duplicate votes.

How to send feedback

You can contact us through our Contact Us page or by email. Helpful feedback includes:

  • The page URL.
  • What looks wrong, outdated or unclear.
  • A link to an official source, if you have one.

We read every message. General emails usually receive a reply within 3 to 5 business days.

All tool names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. Showing them on Shujaz.com does not mean any affiliation or endorsement.

Tool logos are the favicons or brand icons each tool publishes on its own website. Homepage previews are generated automatically using the WordPress.com mShots screenshot service. If a tool owner wants a logo, screenshot or description updated, they can contact us by email.

We also aim to respect applicable laws, including India’s Information Technology Act, 2000. You can learn more about Indian digital policy from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Frequently Asked Questions about Our Editorial Policy

Does this editorial policy allow AI-written content?

Yes, with limits. Long-form tool articles are produced with automation and AI writing assistance. They follow a fixed structure and rely on official sources. The site owner then reviews and updates them over time.

Can a company pay for a better score?

No. Our editorial policy does not allow paid scores, paid rankings or paid positive reviews. Affiliate links and ads never affect scores.

Do you test every tool yourself?

Not always. We do not test every paid feature of every tool hands-on. Scores are based on features, pricing and value, ease of use, platforms, API and open-source status, reputation and update frequency.

How can I report something wrong?

Email us with the page URL, the error and a source if you have one. Factual errors are reviewed within 5 business days.

How often is the editorial policy itself updated?

We update this editorial policy when our methods change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
