This privacy policy explains how Shujaz.com collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you visit our AI tools directory and AI prompts library. We keep things simple and honest. Who We Are and Scope of This Privacy Policy
Shujaz.com (https://www.shujaz.com) is an AI tools directory and AI prompts library. It is owned and run by Shujaz, an individual web developer, social media consultant and AI consultant based in Kerala, India. In this privacy policy, “Shujaz.com”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Shujaz as the operator of the site. You can learn more about the founder on the Shujaz portfolio page and on our About Us page.
The site lists 900+ AI tools across 30 categories and 1,400+ free AI prompts. This privacy policy applies to every page on Shujaz.com. It covers the AI tools directory, the AI prompts library, our blog articles, the newsletter and the contact form.
This privacy policy does not cover third-party websites. When you click a link to an AI tool, that tool’s own privacy notice applies. We encourage you to read it before you sign up anywhere.
Personal Data We Collect
We only collect data that helps the site work or that you choose to give us. This privacy policy lists every type below.
Data you give us directly
- Newsletter: your email address, when you subscribe to AI tool updates.
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
- Comments: if comments are open on a post, your name, email, optional website and comment text.
- Emails: anything you include when you write to us at mail@shujaz.com.
Data collected automatically
- Server logs: our hosting provider records your IP address, browser user agent and the time of each request. This is standard for all websites.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics collects pages viewed, approximate location, device type, browser and how you arrived on the site.
- Star ratings: when you rate a tool, we store a temporary hashed version of your IP address for 7 days. This stops duplicate votes. A hash is a one-way scrambled code, not your raw IP.
- Search queries: words you type into our site search are processed to show results.
- Cookies and browser storage: small files and keys that remember your settings. See the cookies section below.
Data stored only in your browser
Some features save data only on your own device, using browser localStorage. Your saved favourite tools (“sz-favs”), your theme choice (“shujaz-theme”) and your rating history (“sz-rated”) never leave your browser. We cannot see them. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Nothing in this privacy policy asks for sensitive personal data. That includes health data, financial details, government IDs, passwords or biometric data. Please do not send such data through the contact form or by email.
How We Use Your Data and Our Legal Bases
Under laws like the EU and UK GDPR, we must have a lawful reason, called a legal basis, for each use of personal data. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP), we must process data for a lawful purpose with your consent or for certain legitimate uses. The table below shows how this privacy policy maps each purpose to its basis.
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Sending the AI tools newsletter | Email address | Your consent |
| Replying to contact form messages | Name, email, subject, message | Your consent and our legitimate interest in answering you |
| Preventing duplicate star ratings | Hashed IP, rating cookie | Legitimate interest in fair, accurate ratings |
| Remembering view and theme settings | Cookie and localStorage keys | Legitimate interest; strictly necessary for the feature you chose |
| Understanding site usage (analytics) | Analytics data | Consent where required, otherwise legitimate interest |
| Showing ads (Google AdSense) | Cookies, device and usage data | Consent where required by law |
| Security and preventing abuse | Server logs, IP address | Legitimate interest and legal obligation |
| Meeting legal duties | Any relevant data | Legal obligation |
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. We do not build profiles to judge you as a person.
Cookies Summary in This Privacy Policy
Shujaz.com uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage keys. We also allow third-party cookies from Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Here is a short summary:
- sz_view: remembers grid or list view, kept for 1 year.
- sz_rated_{id}: remembers that you rated a tool, kept for 1 year.
- WordPress comment cookies: remember your name and email if you comment.
- Google Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, kept for up to 2 years.
- Google AdSense cookies used to serve and measure ads.
Our full Cookie Policy lists every cookie and storage key with its purpose and duration. It also explains how to block or delete cookies in each major browser. Read it together with this privacy policy.
Advertising, Analytics and Third Parties
Google AdSense
We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick (DART) cookie, lets Google and its partners serve ads based on your visits to Shujaz.com and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:
- Visit Google Ads Settings.
- Visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors.
- In Europe, visit Your Online Choices.
Learn how Google uses data from partner sites at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google’s own Privacy Policy also applies to its services.
If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) when ads are shown. You can change your choice later using the consent settings link.
Affiliate links
Some “Visit website” and tool links may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The tool provider may use its own tracking cookie to credit the referral. Please see our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Analytics and Search Console
We use Google Site Kit, a WordPress plugin, to connect the site to Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Google Analytics helps us see which pages are popular and which need work. It shows totals and trends, not your name.
Google’s own privacy policy covers how it handles analytics data. Google Search Console shows how our pages appear in Google Search. It uses search data Google already holds. It does not place extra cookies on your device from our site.
We also use the Rank Math SEO plugin to manage page titles, descriptions and sitemaps. It does not collect personal data about visitors for marketing.
Newsletter, Contact Form and Ratings
Newsletter
When you subscribe, your email address is stored in our site database. As this privacy policy promises, we use it only to send AI tool updates and never sell or rent the list. To unsubscribe at any time, email mail@shujaz.com and we will remove you.
Contact form
Messages you send through our Contact Us page go to mail@shujaz.com. We use your details only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. We aim to answer general emails within 3–5 business days.
Visitor star ratings
Ratings are anonymous, and we do not ask for your name. A cookie called “sz_rated_{id}” remembers your vote for one year. A hashed IP check is kept for 7 days and then deleted. Together these stop one person from voting many times.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep data only as long as we need it. This part of our privacy policy sets clear limits. The table below shows our retention periods.
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Newsletter email address | Until you unsubscribe |
| Contact form messages and emails | Up to 2 years, then deleted unless needed for a legal reason |
| Hashed IP for rating checks | 7 days |
| sz_rated_{id} and sz_view cookies | 1 year, or until you clear cookies |
| localStorage keys (shujaz-theme, sz-favs, sz-rated) | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Google Analytics cookies | Up to 2 years |
| Published comments | As long as the post is online, or until you ask us to remove them |
| Hosting server logs | As set by our hosting provider, usually a short period for security |
How We Share Data and International Transfers
We do not sell your personal information. Under this privacy policy, we share data only in these limited cases:
- Service providers: our web host, email service and Google (Analytics, Search Console and AdSense) process data to run the site.
- Legal reasons: if a court, government body or law requires it, or to protect our rights and users’ safety.
- Change of ownership: if the site is ever transferred, data may move to the new owner under this privacy policy.
International transfers
Shujaz.com is run from India. Our service providers, including Google, may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data laws from yours.
Where GDPR applies, Google relies on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. This privacy policy still applies to your data wherever it is processed.
Security of Your Data
Security is a core part of this privacy policy. We protect the site with HTTPS/SSL, so data sent between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit. We keep WordPress, themes and plugins up to date. We limit admin access and use strong account security.
We follow reasonable security practices in line with India’s Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. Still, no method of storage or transfer online is 100% secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will inform you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Children’s Privacy
Shujaz.com is intended for users aged 18 and over, or users with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The site is not directed to children under 13, in line with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Under India’s DPDP Act, processing data of anyone under 18 needs verifiable parental consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and this privacy policy does not permit it. If you believe a child has sent us data, email us and we will delete it promptly.

How to Exercise Your Rights and Do Not Track

- We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by replying from the same email address.
- We will respond to privacy and data requests within 30 days.
- If we need more time, we will tell you why.
- Requests are free, unless they are clearly excessive or repeated.
This privacy policy gives you the same rights whether you are a subscriber or a casual visitor. For data kept only in your browser, such as favourites, you can delete it yourself by clearing site data.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond. For now, Shujaz.com does not change its behaviour when it receives a DNT signal. You can still block cookies and opt out of personalised ads using the links above.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy when our features, services or the law change. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will add a clear note on the site. Please check this page from time to time.
